Micelle formation is essential for the emulsification and subsequent absorption of fat soluble nutrients like the carotenoids and omega 3 EFAs. Bile salts formed in the liver and secreted by the gall bladder allow micelles of fatty acids to form. As our regular readers know, we posted the abstract, published in the Journal of Chiropractic Education, which demonstrated a significant lowering of blood pressure in hypertensives. (See http://www.biopharmasci.com/downloads/DynamicChiropractic.pdf).

Even as you read this, that initial pilot study is being followed up by a similar study through the University of Miami, with the additional investigation into various blood parameters. Dr Mike's Key Lime Delight

• 12 oz. plain or vanilla whole milk yogurt (organic)
• 8 oz. frozen peaches*
• juice from 1/2 lime
• 1 scoop NanoGreens10
• 1 scoop NanoProPRP

Blend all but the NanoProPRP until you have a creamy milk shake texture. Add the NanoPro and blend just a little more. You can garnish with a lime wedge!

*If your peaches are fresh or canned, add a handful of ice to freeze your shake.

Your patients who are use to the instant mixability of NanoGreens10 will need a little more instruction when it comes to mixing NanoPro^PRP.

• First, pour the desired liquid into the shaker cup
• Second, scoop in the NanoPro^PRP
• Third, place the top on tightly and shake briskly up and down for 15 seconds, so the product is thrust against the beaters in the shaker cup cap. Very cold liquids may require some extra shaking

If a blender is used there will be no problem. However, it is best to blend all other ingredients first, and then add NanoPro^PRP last. Then continue blending further, but only briefly so as not to denature the colostrum peptides.

Please also note if a creamier texture and a more pronounced vanilla flavor is desired your patients can mix NanoPro^PRP in as little a 4 ounces of water/scoop.

Proline is an amino acid, the basic building block of protein. There are twenty one amino acids. Two or three amino acids linked together form a "di-peptide" and "tri-peptide", respectively. More than 3 amino acids in a chain is a "polypeptide". Proline-rich-polypeptides are chains of about 10 amino acids, with several of them being proline.

PRPs are also called "info-peptides" or "transfer factors". This is because they contain information, much like a computer code. Very simply stated they tell the master gland of the immune system, called the thymus, to "go!" or to "stop!" making certain cells, keeping the immune system effective and balanced.

Logan Chiropractic College research designed to study the effects of NanoGreens10 on cardiovascular health, including blood pressure, in forty subjects, half of which were controls, was presented at the Association of Chiropractic Colleges (ACC) meeting in Phoenix, AZ, March 17, 2007.

After taking the supplement for 90 days, (two scoops daily) both the systolic and diastolic blood pressure decreased significantly. On average, the systolic blood pressure decreased 12.4 mm HG and the diastolic blood pressure decreased 7.1 mm Hg. No significant blood pressure decrease was observed in the control group.

These pilot study results are greater than those reported for the DASH diet, low sodium diet, and exercise combined!

Two studies published in the April issue of the American Journal of Preventive Medicine indicate that Americans still not eating enough fruits and vegetables.

Researchers from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and the Welch Center for Prevention, Epidemiology, and Clinical Research in Baltimore analyzed NHANES data (National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys) to determine trends over time for fruit and vegetable consumption among American adults. Americans have not increased their consumption, with 28% and 32% meeting USDA guidelines for fruits and vegetables, respectively, and less than 11% meeting the USDA guidelines for both fruits and vegetables.

The study focused on 14,997 adults from 1988 to 1994 and 8,910 adults from 1999 to 2002 with complete demographic and dietary data. Approximately 62% of the participants did not consume any whole fruit servings and 25% reported eating no daily vegetable servings! There was no improvement in Americans' fruit consumption during this period and there was a small decrease in vegetable intake.
