Maynard Howe, PhD
Chairman of the Board
Dr. Maynard Howe brings a richly diverse background to BioPharma. Along with his brother, Roger, he has launched five successful start-up ventures in the software, testing and measurement, quality and consulting fields, most recently co-founding and serving as CEO for Reliant Technologies, developers of new medical laser instruments. As a consultant, he has helped more than fifty Fortune 500 companies coordinate their company wide quality and customer relationship initiatives. As a senior executive and co-founder of a leading customer and market research company, he was responsible for conducting extensive marketing and branding campaigns, market assessment and trend research in both business-to-business and business-to-consumer environments.

He has experience in setting up distribution and managing sales channels throughout North America, Europe and parts of Asia.

Maynard is the author and co-author of numerous articles and top selling business books. He is a nationally and internationally recognized lecturer. His benchmark book on quality, Quality on Trial, Bringing Customer Relationships into Focus, is in its second edition and has been published in several languages. Other books include a five part implementation manual series, Business to Business Marketing Management System, published by McGraw-Hill, and The Executives Guide to Knowledge Management: Implementing World Class Knowledge Management Initiatives, also by McGraw-Hill.

Robert Herrmann, MBA
C.E.O.
"Bob" Herrmann has over 30 years experience in retail and direct selling with assignments in sales, operations and finance. His career includes work with Avon Products, Inc., Tupperware, Inc., Noevir USA, Inc. and Metabolife International, Inc. Specifically, Bob has served at the vice president level or higher as Executive VP and COO for Noevir USA, Inc. of Irvine, CA; Area Vice President of Sales and Vice President of Sales Support for Tupperware, Inc. of Orlando, FL; Vice President of Operations and President and CFO for Metabolife International, Inc. of San Diego, CA; and President of Innovative Health Products of Largo, FL.

In addition to his highly successful assignments in numerous sales management positions during his career, Bob is proven expert in maximizing efficiencies and improving performance in the operations, resulting in tremendous financial savings and significant growth. Prior to joining Biopharma Scientific®, Inc., he provided business consulting services to several private equity companies that were investigating potential acquisitions in the direct selling and nutraceutical industries.

Mr. Herrmann is known for his “hands-on” management style, warm personality and inspiring determination, thus providing a highly effective formula for uniting teams of people to accomplish goals. Because of his solid management style and proven track record, Bob was selected by the Board of Directors at Metabolife to lead the company during a period of high regulatory scrutiny and financial uncertainty. There he maintained steady cash flow, increased sales and improved profits completing the successful sale of the company’s assets in late 2005.

Mr. Herrmann is a veteran of the US Army, is married to Diane, and has two adult children, Amanda an RN and Erik a Captain in the USMC. He resides in Carlsbad, California and has an MBA in Cost Accounting and a BSBA in Marketing.

Roger J. Howe, Ph.D.
Over the past twenty-five years, Dr. Howe founded and sold five successful start-up ventures in the technology and information systems business sector. In his past role as Chief Executive Officer of his Companies, he worked with venture capital and investment banking firms obtaining their participation and ultimately selling each company, obtaining a substantial profit for investors. Most recently he co-founded Reliant Technologies, a new medical laser company.

As CEO and Founder of National Information Systems, Inc. (one of his start-up ventures), a leading customer and marketing research company, his company was responsible for conducting extensive marketing and branding campaigns, marketing assessment, and trend research in both business-to-business and business-to-consumer environments for leading fortune 500 corporations. Metrix Communications, (another of his ventures), was one of the most successful IBM Premium Partners that focused on the development of custom applications for Internet, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain Management. The company developed sophisticated, award winning integrated systems primarily for fortune 100 corporations.

Dr. Howe is an investor in several ventures and serves on the Board of Directors for several companies including Stemedica Scientific, a pioneer in the emerging filed of auto-logenous (non-embryonic) stem cell therapy; Cardiovascular Systems, a company with a technology that removes atherosclerotic blockages in coronary and peripheral arteries; Americas Back Clinic which is currently setting up clinics in Wal-Mart stores with technology that treats back pain, and Whitsett Hill Entertainment, a company that develops, produces and promotes concert tours, records and films.

He has authored and co-authored three books and several articles, which served as foundation for promoting his businesses. His books, Quality on Trial, and Customer Relationship Management, were best sellers among business books and have been translated and published in several languages.

Dr. Howe is actively involved in a non-profit organization Boundary Waters Experience, an organization dedicated to providing young people with adventurous experiences in the wilderness. He resides in San Diego, California with is wife, Irene. He is the father of two sons, Ryan and Derek, and has two granddaughters.

Steve Mendelow
Mr. Mendelow has been a Principal with Konigsberg Wolf and Company since 1983. Konigsberg Wolf & Co. P.C. is one of the oldest and most distinguished mid-sized certified public accounting and consulting practices in the New York metropolitan area serving corporate needs in the areas of: capital formation, audit, tax, mergers and acquisitions, strategic and financial planning. He specializes in unique transactions, family wealth building and generational matters, and financial restructuring.

He serves as advisor to the chairman of a New York Stock Exchange company, and also as advisor to the chairman of an American Stock Exchange company. Steve serves as a Board member with several public and privately-held companies. He has played an integral role in the development of numerous growth oriented companies and has provided strategic and tactical consulting to many established organizations. Throughout his career, he has been a general partner in more than 30 substantial commercial real estate transactions. He has served as treasurer of his co-op board for more than ten years. He is a board member of Soldiers For The Truth and a trustee of The Washington Institute for Near East Studies. Along with his wife Nancy, he is actively involved in the Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to making a world of difference for seriously ill children and their families and the Foundation Fighting Blindness whose mission is to support research for an entire spectrum of retinal degenerative diseases. Steve received his B.S. in Business Administration with a major in Accounting from Bucknell University in 1964 and was elected to Delta Mu Delta, the National Economics Honor Society.

Dan Faller
Dan Faller has served as a major stock holder and member of the Board of Directors of another successful international nutritional company.

He is the founder and currently CEO of The Apartment Owners Association of California. His association is one of the largest individually organized groups of apartment owners and property management companies in the country.


He has a consulting service for apartment managers and investors. He provides a tenant screening service and publishes the most widely circulated monthly magazine in the apartment industry. He is also the founder and owner of AOA Commercial Brokerage which specializes in assisting housing providers with their apartment building investments. He is the sponsor of “The Million Dollar Trade Show and Educational Conference” which is the leading event for the industry at the Los Angeles and Long Beach Convention Centers every year.

Dan is a motivational speaker who has lectured across the USA and internationally to share his “7 Step Success System on How to Make and Keep Millions (Been There, Done That)” with thousands of other investors. He also teaches a class on budgeting and how to handle personal finances for a non-profit organization.

He was formally a stock broker with a major New York stock exchange firm. He co-founded and was President of Intervest Management Company which managed portfolios of stocks for larger investors. Dan graduated from Baylor University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 1962. He has five adult children and stepchildren with eight grandchildren. He resides in Chatsworth, California with his wife, Danette.

Nikolai I. Tankovich, M.D., Ph.D., FASLMS
Dr. Tankovich is a recognized innovator, researcher and educator for laser applications in medicine and other medical related disciplines. He is a proven researcher and has inventions that have set the basis for entire new industries. Founder and Director of several corporations, Dr. Tankovich is respected worldwide and published and honored for his innovative work in laser and new drug usage including medical and aesthetic applications. He has more than 110 US and International patents issued and pending.

Dr. Tankovich has been an educator at International Universities, published more than 60 articles and has been a presenter or speaker at over 200 conferences or seminars. He has conducted extensive research and development of laser applications for medical usage as well as for cancer research. Among his numerous awards and honors are the Gold Kurchatov Medal for the Atomic Science Application in Medicine and Biology awarded by the Atomic Energy Agency in 1998. Dr. Tankovich's inventions include laser hair removal and laser skin peeling, non-ablative wrinkle removal, and laser lancet (all three licensed and FDA approved). He was the first in the world to propose, invent, develop, patent, build and use a 1.54 micron Er:Glass laser for medical applications.

Dr. Tankovich has conducted extensive research and development of laser applications for medical usage as well as for cancer research. As a result of his advanced technology laser applications in plastic and cosmetic surgery and dermatology, Thermolase Corporation was founded and still uses his intellectual property and patents on Laser Hair Removal and Skin Resurfacing. Dr. Tankovich also has worked on laser diagnosis and surgery of malignant and background diseases of uterine cervix and the intraoperation laser diagnosis of early forms of breast cancer. He holds an M.D. degree from Semashco Medical University (Moscow), a Master of Science degree in Plasma Physics from Moscow University, and a PhD in BioPhysics from Lomonosov Moscow University.

Thomas D. Aarts
Thomas D. Aarts is Managing Director of Nutrition Business Advisors, LLC (NBA), a strategic advisory firm focused on the $58 billion Nutraceuticals Industry. He co-founded the Nutrition Business Journal (NBJ), which is the "journal of record" for strategic information and market intelligence in the nutrition and natural products industry. NBJ has been cited in most of the national and regional major news media including The New York Times, Forbes, Time and The Wall Street Journal, as well as thousands of business plans and market reports. In 2001, Mr. Aarts successfully managed a transaction to sell NBJ to New Hope Natural Media, a division of Penton Media. He continues on as a consultant for New Hope and NBJ. He is also the Founder and co-chair of the NBJ/Newport Summit, the premier executive retreat in the Nutrition Industry.

Prior to this he was also a founding Partner with Health Business Partners (HBP), one of the leading investment banking and consulting firms in the Nutrition Industry. Mr. Aarts is a keynote speaker and chairperson at many of the industry's leading conferences. He also serves on several editorial advisory boards and has authored numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and trade publications.

Mr. Aarts has more than 20 years' experience in management consulting, M&A transactions, investment analysis and market research. In the nutrition industry, Mr. Aarts successfully managed the sale of Nutrition 21, a $20 million company, and has advised many of the leading companies in the Nutrition, Food and Pharmaceutical industries on their strategy and direction including GNC, Rexall, Nestle, Bayer, and Cargill.

Tom received a B.A. from Colgate University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Derek J. Howe, B.S., C.P.A.
Chief Financial Officer
Derek is currently the Chief Financial Officer of BioPharma. He has particular expertise in working with start up organizations. During his tenure he served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of four different start-up companies and built the financial, personnel, and administrative infrastructure necessary for growth, raising capital and expanding the company's resources with a variety of financing mechanisms. Derek has completed several mergers and acquisitions. He has worked as COO/CFO in the medical, technology, nutritional, and entertainment industries.

Derek serves as the Founder and Executive Chairman of CornerStone Ministries as well as a Board member for BioPharma Scientific. He has played an integral role in the development of numerous growth oriented companies and has provided strategic and tactical consulting to many established organizations. Derek received his B.S. in Business Administration from Northwestern College, Suma Cum Laude. In addition, he is a certified public accountant (CPA).

Bruce L. Howe, D.C., C.N.N.
President and Chief Technical Officer
Dr. Howe is the chief formulator of BioPharma's nutraceutical products. He is a certified clinical nutritionist and a much sought after consultant to corporations in the natural food industry on product assessment, research, testing, and label claim approval. Dr. Howe has developed a number of formulas as a consultant to the industry to include “Ark Animals” a multivitamin for children, “Friendly Critters,” a chewable pro-biotic for children and “GREENSFirst,” an organic greens super antioxidant formula, “Organic Boulder Bar,” the first organic nutritional bar and “ORGANICFirst,” a fruit and vegetable antioxidant bar, as well as numerous products for BioPharma. He is author and producer of best selling audiotapes: “Arthritis, Declare Victory over Pain,” “Your Child Deserves the Best,” and “Live Long-Feel Young”.

Dr. Howe has had a successful career as an industry consultant as well as a success business developer and manager. Prior to joining BioPharma, Dr. Howe was co-founder, CEO and CTO for “Doctors for Nutrition,” a nutritional food company that specialized in the marketing of products to the healthcare practitioner channel. While at “Doctors for Nutrition” Dr. Howe developed “GREENSFirst,” the first great tasting greens “Super Food” on the market with the antioxidant value equivalent to five servings of fruits and vegetables. Within one year the product became the best selling greens product in the Health Practitioner Channel. In two years “Doctors For Nutrition” grew the company from launch to over 5,500 practitioner customers with annual revenues in excess of $4 million. The company was sold in 2004.

Prior to the start of “Doctors for Nutrition,” Dr. Howe was co-founder and developer of a successful internet based anti-aging research business that produced on-line home study courses for consumers and published a monthly newsletter, “Longevity News.” Prior to this business Dr. Howe was in private practice for 21 years as an owner operator of multi-disciplinary clinics integrating traditional allopathic and complementary medicine.

Dr. Howe received his BA from the University of Minnesota and earned his Doctorate from Northwestern Health Science University in Minneapolis. In addition he has earned certification as a Certified Team Physician, Certified Disability Examiner, Qualified Medical Evaluator and a Certified Clinical Nutritionist. Dr. Howe is married to his wife, Julie, has two children and resides in Solana Beach, California.
